Climbing for everyone
A real treasure chest opens up around the Zugspitze for sport and hobby climbers. There are climbing routes of all levels of difficulty. Due to the southern exposure of the more than 160 routes, the climbing season in the Tyrolean Zugspitz Arena is particularly long. The experts from SAAC coach for two days in proven theory and practice for a sense of achievement on the wall. And when the rocks outdoors are out of the question: The EhrWALLd climbing hall with 1,267 square meters offers the best conditions even when it rains.
Those who prefer to experience the region from a bird's eye view can really start paragliding - and follow the athletes of the Red Bull X-Alps online, they are expected at the Turnpoint in Lermoos in the third week of June. And the little ones? Are in good hands with an exciting holiday program for the whole family. Inexpensive leisure activities and toll-free travel via the Munich - Garmisch-Partenkirchen or Ulm - Füssen motorways are an additional plus.
Hikes between striking peaks
Hiking means discovering slowness. With more than 150 routes in different levels of difficulty, the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena is the right starting point. In addition to classic high-altitude hikes, local mountain schools also offer numerous themed hikes: from sunrise and sunset tours to orchid or herb hikes - the paths lead to green mountain slopes, imposing waterfalls and mysterious mountain lakes.
Trail dream for mountain bikers
Blindseetrail, Grubigalmtrail, skiogasse, Barbarasteig and Rauhe-Gasse are the stars of the bike season. From the moderate Grubigalm trail for beginners to the flowing and steeper blind lake trail, which was recently voted into the top 5 of the “Great Trails of Tirol”, there is the right profile for every driver. No wonder that the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena has already been awarded several times as an “Approved Bike Area” by “Mountain Bike Holidays”. New this season is a skill area at the valley station of the Grubigsteinbahn in Lermoos. An ideal training area and the best opportunity to find the ideal trail for yourself in difficulty levels 1-3, before starting on the Grubigstein. There is also a pump track in the Lusspark, the playground for all mountain bikers. From the online tour portal, bikers can choose their personal favorites from more than 100 marked tours. For example, leisure cyclists can enjoy nature on the trip to Lake Heiterwang at the foot of the impressive peaks, while downhillers can find new sporting challenges on the freeride route on Grubigstein in Lermoos with ski jumps and obstacles. In addition, recognized MTB guiding and various rental and service stations are available. Those who prefer to travel by e-bike can rent the right vehicle at seven rental stations or recharge their own bike at one of the many charging stations.
The Zugspitze from a bird's eye view
The Tiroler Zugspitz Arena, with its varied landscape around the Zugspitze, is a dream destination for everyone who loves to fly. The mountain railways in Lermoos have a special ticket for this on offer. Paragliders enjoy the ideal conditions with a large selection of take-off sites and the landing site near the mountain railway. Certified experts and schools, such as the Flyteam in Lermoos, offer tandem flights and present a variety of high-quality products in their shop.
Adventures for the whole family
Games, fun and excitement: A varied summer program and specialized accommodation make the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena a favorite region for the whole family. Whether plant secrets from the herb witch, abseiling adventures at the waterfall or legends about the hidden treasure in the Loisach springs - the offers are not only exciting, but also instructive. Adventure trails such as "Zugspitzi am Gaisbach" and "Moosle's Magic Forest" gently and playfully introduce the little ones to the Tyrolean mountains and their nature. For action-hungry kids there are rapid rides when rafting in Bichlbach, on the water slide in the Lermoos outdoor pool or on the longest summer toboggan run in Tyrol in Biberwier. The climbing forest in Bichlbach offers the right terrain for little climbers. Children from the age of six can practice coordination and teamwork here. Those who prefer it quieter can book a trip on the excursion boat on Lake Heiterwang or visit the animal and play park in Bichlbach.
